dcdx Launches Offline to Pioneer the Connection Economy
First-of-its-Kind Agency Connects Brands with Real-World Communities
NEW YORK, May 20, 2025 --- dcdx, the Gen Z research and consulting firm, today announced the launch of Offline, a first-of-its-kind agency that connects brands with IRL communities to co-host and sponsor events at scale.
In the last year alone, millions of people across the globe have begun gathering in small, interest-driven groups. Amidst the global loneliness epidemic, these in-person spaces serve as a refuge from the chronic online-ness plaguing young people.
"Influencer marketing created a movement within the attention economy, helping brands capture attention worldwide," says Roth. "Now, a post-COVID movement centered around human connection has emerged. As third spaces declined, these new communities formed around shared interests rather than shared places – what we coined for Eventbrite as 'Fourth Spaces,' marking the shift from where we gather to why we gather."
Offline connects brands with these micro-communities, matching, strategizing, and activating at community events, similar to how influencer marketing companies connect brands with micro-influencers.
The agency launches after a successful pilot with Le Monde Gourmand, which integrated with two Los Angeles micro-communities for their fragrance launch. The events generated over 1,100 attendees, 90,000 quality minutes spent with the brand in person, 600,000+ impressions, and 50+ pieces of user-generated content. See the full case here.
Offline has curated over 1,500 communities nationwide, spanning from wellness and social to creative, dating-focused, and many more.
"Today, our culture powers the Attention Economy, monetizing our screen time and keeping us captive to our devices," proclaims Roth. "Tomorrow, brands will power the Connection Economy – supporting hosts and communities through integrations, cohosting, and sponsorships. Just as the Influencer rose to fame, so will the Host.”
Offline builds upon dcdx's work with major brands including Spotify, Hinge, Chipotle, L'Oréal, and Crocs, applying its Gen Z expertise to IRL community building.
The agency is opening with a limited number of initial brand partnerships for brands looking to connect with micro-communities.
