Tip #1 - Measure Your Website Speed

This week we're focusing on one of our most valued metrics.

Your website speed.

There's a famous study from Amazon that shows a 1-second delay in load time caused a $1.6 BILLION loss in sales.

A 2017 study from Google revealed that as load time goes from 1 to 3 seconds, the bounce rate increases by 32%.

Unfortunately, expectations are only getting higher. So what can you do?
First, you need a baseline metric. Measure your website speed. There are plenty of tools available to do this online, and we also include it in our free score report available here.

For Generation Z, impression is everything. With less than an 8-second attention span (we think it’s half of that), your website needs to get to the content, and get to it fast.

Our best guess? If your website takes longer than 5 seconds to load, you will not get ANY visitors from Generation Z. That’s a bounce rate of 100%.

What’s even worse about that? With a bounce rate of 100%, Google thinks you are a scam. Our SEO (search engine optimization) tips come in a later post.
